The stage drama ‘God bless the Carpenter’ is going live on stage on Sunday the 26th of August 2018 by 4 pm at Con-Vaj events centre Nnewi Anambra State. Come out and enjoy the best of poetry, drama, comedy, music and visual arts.

God bless the Carpenter, a stage play written by Prof. Uche-Chinemere Nwaozuzu will be performed by the Paul Robeson theatre from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, led by the duo of Dr. Iyke Erojikwe and Dr. Ndubuisi Nnanna

The play ‘God bless the Carpenter’ is a farce (extreme comedy ‘which talks about some ills in our country. It talks about drug trafficking and also brings us some leaders who run away after committing a crime.
A scene from the play portrays the character of Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, the late former Governor of Bayelsa state who tried running away after being indicted for corrupt practices by disguising himself as a woman. Dr Eli Fortunatus plays Alamieyeseigha in the play.

The play uses buffoons to create big comic relief while treating contemporary issues bothering on health, corruption, infidelity, gullibility and extreme ignorance.
