A gas explosion has hit a family living in a two storey building at Number 30 Izundu road Nnewichi in Nnewi.
There was serious confusion as efforts were made to quell the fire from the explosion which hit the family as a result of a mismanaged gas cylinder.
According to eyewitnesses, several persons including a nursing mother and child were burnt by the fire, therefore leading to the sustenance of injuries. However, no life was said to be lost in the said accident as at the time of filing this report.
According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, the explosion shattered the glasses in the building and damaged the roof of the building.
When anaedoonline.ng visited, other occupants of the building were seen evacuating their properties as a crowd was also seen in the ensuing commotion.
