2019: APC presidential primary records massive turn-out in Anambra

THE Presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) conducted in the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra went peacefully in the areas.

our correspondent who visited Aguata, Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Oyi, Onitsha North and Onitsha South, Orumba North and Orumba South Local Government areas report that APC supporters massively participated in the exercise.

Mr Paul-Chuks Umenduka, the chairman APC Aguata Local Government area told our correspondent at Achina his community that the direct primary for President Muhammadu Buhari, the sole candidate of APC in 2019 was a mere formality.

‘The primaries as you can witness is a mere fulfilment of all righteousness because APC has only one presidential candidate in the person of Buhari and we all came out to affirm his candidature’’, he said.

Umenduka said what the supporters of the party in the area were using the opportunity to do was to marshal out plans for the campaigns of the party to ensure landslide victory of all the candidates of APC in 2019.

 

Another chieftain of the party in Aguata, Chief Modestus Umenzekwe said he particularly helped that the members of the party came out in their numbers for the exercise, adding, “with the number of people here today, it means 2019 is a mere walk-over’’, he said.

Umenzekwe added that the signs of the victory of the party in next year’s elections was becoming more glaring with the recent elections conducted in parts of the country and urged the people to keep faith with Buhari’s government.

At Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, a senatorial aspirant under the platform APC in Anambra assured Buhari that the state would record massive votes in support of his re-election bid in 2019.

Ekwunife who addressed APC faithful during the party’s presidential primary at Nri ward one, Anaocha Local Government Area, assured that the people that they would benefit if Buhari returns in 2019.

“I am assuring you that Mr President will get at least three-quarter of the total vote cast in the next election in the state and our people will get their due share if he returns’’, she said.

Ekwunife said supporting Buhari was the shortest and fastest way Ndigbo could get to power in 2023.

Also speaking in his Uga ward one venue of the presidential primary, Sen. Andy Uba representing Anambra South, assured the president of the support of people of the South-East.

“This time, we promise to give the president what would go beyond what he got in the last election.

“There are certain things he has put in place; the second Niger Bridge, Enugu-Onitsha road among other projects.

“I am sure his re-election will ensure more political appointments and infrastructure for the zone,” Uba said.

Senator Uba said the victory in Osun and Ekiti states were signs that the public appreciates the good works of president Mohammadu Buhari.
