The controversies trailing the rotation arrangement between the quarters in Nnewichi as it concerns the State House of Assembly seat which has been zoned to Nnewichi appears to be threatening the peace and unity of the community.
In a video made available to anaedoonline on Monday, October 22, the President General of the Community, Mr. Cyprian Okolo, debunked the rumour making the rounds that the leadership of Nnewichi have zoned the House of Assembly slot to one of the quarters in the community.
His words,v”I am making a declaration today about rumors going on here that Nnewichi have zoned the House of Assembly to a particular quarter.
Today, I want to make it clear that Nnewichi did not zone the slot to any quarter.
The slot is for every son and daughter of Nnewichi. Anybody can take the slot from whatever party or platform; because we cannot reach consensus about rotation; so, everybody is free to run, that is the truth about the whole thing.”

Recall that the Nzuko Agumniru suspended the outcome of the meeting set up by the community to look into rotation controversies.
It is important to note that Nnewichi is made up of four quarters namely: Okpuno; Abubo, Obiofia and Oduda.
These four arms of Nnewichi are listed in their order of seniority.
Front line candidates in the race of the seat to represent Nnewi North in the Anambra State House of Assembly include Nonso Smart Okafor of APGA (Oduda); Obinna Ngonadi of the YPP (Okpono); and Ben Chuks Nwosu of the PDP (Okpono).
