POLICE ARREST 42-YEAR-OLD MAN FOR RAPE IN ANAMBRA

Men of the Nigerian Police Force attached to Neni Police Division in Anocha Local Government Area of Anambra State have arrested one Emmanuel Nwakozor, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl, names withheld.

Police source informed anaedoiline that Emmanuel was arrested on Tuesday following a report lodged by one Ifeanyichukwu Ejikeme, an activist, who informed the police that his colleague, Queeneth, reported to him that her 19-year-old friend, complained to her that she was driven into a bush in the night and raped by a man called Emmanuel.

The police source said, “One Ifeanyichukwu Ejikeme informed this division that a girl, who sells clothes in Awka was approached by one Emmanuel Nwakozor on 19th October, 2018, at Aroma Junction, in Awka, where Emmanuel collected the girl’s phone number.

“We were told that the man (Emmanuel) continued to pressurize her to meet him which she declined; but one day, the man told her that he brings clothes from Cameroon, and would be pleased to assist her grow her business by giving her clothes in large quantity. The promise compelled the victim to see Emmanuel.

“They met at the popular Motor Spare Parts Market at Nkpor. After their lengthy discussion, Emmanuel offered to drop her off after seeing his workers at Adazi-Ani.

“After Emmanuel had paid his workers at Adazi- Ani, they drove through Enugwu-Ukwu, where he was meant to drop her off, then, the man took the lonely Neni-Nimo road where there were no street lights.

“When the victim inquired to know where they were heading to, he said it was short-cut to Enugwu Ukwu. But suddenly, Emmanuel drove into a nearby bush, where he ordered the girl out of the car and undress herself.

“We were informed that after raping her, Emmanuel cut off hairs from the victim’s private part, as well as her finger nails, and also gave her a piece of cloth to clean her vagina and took pictures of her naked”.

The source said the suspect was tracked down at Nkpor, and is presently at the custody of the police; while the girl has been made to undergo every necessary tests; and that the victim will be charged to court after investigation.

Anaedooline went extra mile to contact Ifeanyichukwu Ejikeme, who also briefed our reporter on the development; and efforts he put in to make sure that the suspect was tracked down.
