INNOCENT CHUKWUMA BURIES FATHER-IN-LAW IN STYLE

By all standards, the funeral rites of Chief Sir Francis Okeke (KSM) Ide Akunwanne, who was buried on Thursday, November 22, at his Nnewi country home was truly a celebration of a life well spent. He was reputed as a fearless, independent and successful businessman and a well-established family man.

To fully celebrate the life and times of Chief Sir Francis Okeke, his children, family relatives, in-laws, friends and colleagues, rolled out drums to celebrate this great man of honour.

What should have been a condolence visit turned to a mini carnival as friends and associates of Dr Innocent Chukwuma stormed the venue in solidarity to
Dr Innocent Chukwuma.

While paying glowing tribute to his father-in-law, late Chief Sir Francis Okeke (KSM) Ide Akunwanee, Dr Chukwuma described death as inevitable, stating, however, that the death of his In-law does not call for mourning, rather, having lived a fulfilled life, his exit calls for a celebration.

 

He said that Chief Sir Francis Okeke will be forever remembered for his numerous giant strides in his family and in his community. He described his in-law as a liberal man in the management and running of his family.

He went further to say that his late In-law attained success through honest labour and resourcefulness which helped him achieve fame in life; and said that such virtues as displayed by the deceased are no longer common among men.

He charged the children of the deceased to learn from their father’s humility and honesty, which he said, was the best way to immortalize his legacy.


Dr Chukwuma was accompanied to the funeral by notable personalities like the Senator representing Anambra South in the Nigeria Senate, Senator Dr Andy Ubah; the Senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Dr Victor Umeh; and the former Majority Leader of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Humphrey Nsofor.

Others include the Transition Chairman of Nnewi North LGA, Rt. Hon. Chukwudi Orizu; Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Budget and Efficiency, Hon. Melie Onyejepu; and many other dignitaries.
