POLICE ARREST MAN FOR MACHETING A MEDICAL DOCTOR IN NNEWI
Police Patrol team attached to the Central Police Station, CPS, Nnewi, in conjunction with a community vigilante group, arrested one Chukwudi Onuchukwu, 24, on Saturday, December 8.
In a release issued on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed, said Chukwudi Onuchukwu, who is
from Obofia Nnewichi, Nnewi was arrested at Akaboedoji, Uruagu, Nnewi for allegedly inflicting injuries on one Dr. Nnabuchi Obinna, using a sharp cutlass, while attempting to rob him of his Toyota Corolla Car.
Anaedooline learnt that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the case is being investigated after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
In a related development, a 25-year-old man, Alonna Onuigwe, a native of Umumpama Village Oba in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, has been arrested by police detectives attached to Ojoto Division for allegedly conspiring with his gang members to murder
a 23-year-old trailer driver, Felix Aigbogie.
The release informed that the incident occurred along Onitsha-Owerri Rd., Oba, Anambra State, on Friday, December 7; adding that police is intensifying efforts to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
