BIAFRAN JEWISH WORSHIPPERS STAGE PROTEST IN UMUAHIA
Thousands of Biafran Jewish, on Tuesday, staged a peaceful protest in a place they call Biafra land, demanding the end to injustice, killing of their people and demanded what they call a referendum to determine their fate in Nigeria.
The protesters, who trooped out in their thousands began the peaceful protest around 10:00 am from home of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, at Afara Ukwu, Umuahia, adorning Jewish attires, and stormed major streets in Umuahia with placards, chanting pro-Biafra songs and waving Biafra and Israeli flags.

They also chanted songs in the Hebrew language.
But the peaceful protest turned awry as the protesters were intercepted at the Okpara Square area of the capital city as the procession made its way towards the popular Isi -Gate axis by heavily armed policemen in over four pick -up vans, who ordered them to halt.
The security men immediately started firing canisters of tear gas to disperse the protesters.
An unspecified number of the protesters were arrested and whisked away by the police while others scampered for safety.
Traders around the vicinity, including Isi -Gate, abandoned their wares as they fled for dear life.
It was gathered that the Biafran Jewish later regrouped to continue with the peaceful protests as residents were seen hailing them as they called for the restoration of Biafra Republic, kicked against injustice and killing of its members.
