MBAZULIKE AMECHI REVEALS WHY DR IKEDIFE REMAINED IPOB PATRON TILL DEATH
A close ally of late Dr. Dozie Ikedife, and First Republican Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, has given reasons why the former President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Dozie Ikedife, remained Deputy Chairman, Supreme Council of Elders of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, till his death.
Mbazulike Amechi told Anaedoonline during the burial of Dr. Ikedife in Nnewi on Wednesday that Ikedife believed in one Nigeria where no part would be treated as inferior.
He, however, noted that Ikedife believed that treatment being meted on Igbo people in the entity called Nigeria was unfair; and therefore, believed that instead of remaining in Nigeria as an unrecognized partner, Igbo people should be allowed to decide whether to belong to Nigeria or not.

According to him, “Ikedife fought for one Nigeria; but he did not like the kind of treatment Ndigbo were being subjected to in the country.
“To demonstrate that he believed in one Nigeria, Ikedife allowed his family to belong to the All Progressive Congress, APC; yet, he held the same view with majority of Ndigbo that the Nigerian government should listen to the young elements, who are agitating and protesting the marginalization and the very evil treatment being meted on Ndigbo. But instead of listening to their agitation, the Nigerian government continued to kill them.
“That was Ikedife’s worry, and most of us shared in that perception. Personally, I suffered and went to prison because of my belief in one Nigeria, but in the end, it is not what we fought for that we saw”.
