OGBUEFI MELIE ONYEJEPU BAGS CHIEFTAINCY TITLE IN OMOR PHOTOS
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Budget Monitoring and Implementation, Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu, today, 12 December 2018, added a new feather on his cap as the Omor Kingdom conferred him as Dike Eji Amateur Ibie of Omor.
According to our correspondent, the Governor’s aide received the chieftaincy title during the 1st Ofala Festival of His Royal Highness, Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume (Eze Ana-Ukwu, Eze Igulube of Omor ) at his palace in Omor.
Conferring the title on Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu in the presence of His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Kenneth Onyemeke Orizu III (Igwe Nnewi), Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume charged him not to shy away from the responsibilities that come with the title.
According to Igwe Oranu, the title is in recognition of Ogbuefi Melie enormous contributions to the community and outstanding performance in the state.
He said, “Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu have continued to show good leadership even as a government appointee, he has facilitated and attracted many developmental projects in Anambra State especially from international agencies, most of the erosion projects going on in Anambra State may not have been possible without the dodged approach of Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu, Even when he served in the bank, he demonstrated his leadership and management skills and was part of the success of fidelity bank today.
This title is not only to appreciate or recognize him but also to encourage him because the future holds a lot for him positively.
Responding, Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu who was visibly overwhelmed by the gesture lauded the traditional institution of the community for the honor done him, assuring that the gesture will accord him a great opportunity to be a partner, friend, and colleague in the chamber.
He promised to consolidate on his efforts towards the development of Anambra State.
He said, ” While I appreciate His Royal Highness and the entire Omor Community, it is important that we give kudos to His Excellency, Dr. Willie Obiano for always supporting my efforts and all the opportunities he has granted me.
I am humbled by all the commendation I have received today and with God being my help, I will do more, he concluded.
