MONSTERS THAT MURDERED HOTEL MANAGER IN NNEWI

Evidence emerged as to the direction one has to look in searching for the culprits behind the murder of a young hotel manager, Chukwunonso Igbokwe in Nnewi.

Chukwunonso Igbokwe, assistant manager of Makossa Lounge, Swiss Park Hotel, Nnewi, was murdered by unknown gunmen on Wednesday; but emerging evidence is pointing to a direction one could look in tracing the culprits.

A staff of the Swiss Park Hotel, who pleaded anonymity, told Anaedoonline that the murder must have been committed by “young cultists who are presently all over Nnewi.”

The source revealed that last week, four young men suspected to be cultists came to the Lounge to drink, and after taking their drinks, they stood up and started leaving.

According to the source, security man in the hotel confronted them and insisted that they must pay before leaving.

“They had fiery exchanges before they paid and left the hotel very unhappy; with a promise that they would come back for the security man when they’re ready for him. When they said it, nobody took them seriously, and we were not expecting them.

“Actually, when they came back on Wednesday, we were taken unawares. They actually came for the security man. When they came, the security man saw them from a distance and disappeared.

“When they could not get the security man, and could not succeed in convincing the assistant manager to produce the security man, they had to murder him”, the source said.

It regretted that none of the CCTV fittings in the hotel was functional. “We would have found it very easy to track the perpetrators”.

Anaedoonline also spoke with the owner of the hotel popularly known as Orji Okosisi, but he had no ready answer for our reporter, but simply asked Nnewi stakeholders to find a way of tackling the increasing security challenges in the industrial city or expect a collapse in industries and businesses.
