A middle age man, whose identity is not yet known has been arrested by men of the Nigerian Police, Awada Division, Anambra State, for alleged child trafficking.

Anaedoonline learnt that the man in his late 30s was sighted with a 4-year-old boy along Onitsha-Owerri Road by Aba Park at the evening hours of Friday.

A source informed that the young man was dragging the four-year-old, who was on barefoot to an unknown destination before the incident caught the attention of a petty trader, who displayed her wares along the road.

The trader was said to have offered to buy slippers for the kid, but the man objected, so, the woman became suspicious and drew the attention of people.

It was also alleged that when confronted by curious bystanders, the man in question could not explain himself well and so, was beaten red and blue until men of the Nigerian police from Awada division arrived the scene and whisked both the suspect and the little child to the police station.
