VP DEBATE: OBI COOKED UP FIGURES, TWISTED FACTS -APC

The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, has been described by the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) as a politician with a penchant for cooking up figures and twisting facts.

BMO made the comment in a statement signed by its chairman, Niyi Akinsiju, and secretary, Cassidy Madueke, in response to the vice presidential candidates’ debate which took place on Friday, December 14.

The organisation said Obi did not disappoint Nigerians, who had been following his political trajectory since he left the Anambra Government House.

It said: “From the outset, it was clear that Obi was out to impress his gullible political base, but he did not reckon with the fact that majority of Nigerians cannot be easily be fooled at a time information can easily be cross-checked.”

Meanwhile, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) commended its vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s performance at the recently-held vice presidential debate for the 2019 polls, saying Obi had an outstanding performance at the debate.

The assertion was made in a statement by the party in which it claimed that its vice presidential candidate displayed an “unprecedented understanding of the dynamics of the critical sectors of our economy with practical solutions to the myriad of problems”.

The opposition party said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who also participated in the debate, “dwelt on false performance claims and displayed scanty understanding of economic issues”.
