PANDEMONIUM AS WOMAN SET MOTHER, TWO KIDS ON FIRE IN NNEWI

There was pandemonium in Mbanagu Otolo Nnewi, Anambra State, on Monday night as an unknown person attacked a mother and her two children with a liquid substance suspected to be a mixture of acid and fuel; and set them on fire by allegedly throwing lit matchstick on them.

The victim, we learnt, raised alarm and attracted a very large crowd, who made efforts to save the trio, but it was already too late for the two kids, who gave up the ghost immediately. But the mother, Mrs Nwoye Ginika, who was already unconscious, was rushed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, but was allegedly rejected. She was also rushed to the Iyienu Hospital in Ogidi, Idemili North LGA, where she was also rejected.

A family source told Anaedooline through telephone chat that the woman was later referred to the Orthopedic Hospital in Enugu, where she is currently receiving treatment.

Mrs Ginika was said to have been returning from her restaurant with her two little children at about 10 pm the faithful day with no suspicion that someone laid ambush close to her residence to attack her.

The identity of the assailant could not be established but a source close to the victim said they had to suspect a lady, who exchanged a very serious verbal attack with the victim the previous day. The source said the lady accused the mother of two of having secret affairs with her husband.

The source said the family of the victim is still engulfed in the pains of losing two male children, as well as the bad condition of their wife; and therefore, has not made any official report to the police.
