POLICE ARREST 5 IN ANAMBRA OVER MURDER OF PROSTITUTE, PASTOR

Police detectives attached to the Central Police Station, Onitsha, following intelligence report, arrested five suspects over the gruesome murder of one Gold Gift, and one Pastor Justice Nonso Njigbo, Assistant Pastor of the Christ Holy Church located at No. 30 Orumba Street, Okpoko, Idemili North LGA.

The suspects, according to the police source, include on Okoronji Emeka, 24, and Umezinwa Val, 24, of No.110 Agulu Avenue, Nkpor Agu.

Others are one Mr Ekene Gabriel, one Tom Bishop Emmanuel and one Arume Ifeanyi Godwin.

The police source said that Okoronji Emeka and Umezinwa Val, had on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, lured one Gold Gift, 35, into a hotel, killed her, and ran away after having sex with her.

The source further revealed that the victim was later taken by a staff of the hotel and dumped at DMGS Roundabout, Onitsha, without informing the police; leading to the arrest of the trio of Ekene Gabriel, Tom Bishop Emmanuel and Arume Ifeanyi Godwin; who were the staff of the hotel.

Police source also informed Anaedoonline that on Sunday, December 18, 2018, at about 4am, three unknown men scaled the fence of Christ Holy Church located at No. 30 Orumba Street, Okpoko, and forcefully entered the room of the Assistant Pastor of the Church, one Justice Nonso Njigbo, 26, and inflicted a deep machete cut on his forehead, shot and injured him on the left thigh and made away with phones of the occupants.

It was gathered that police detective attached to Okpoko Division visited the scene and rushed the victim to St. Charles Boromeo Hospital, Onitsha, where he was confirmed dead on arrival. His corpse, we learnt, was subsequently deposited in the morgue of the same hospital.

The police spokesman in Anambra State, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the two incidences; stating that investigations are ongoing in the matters; adding that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
