BUILDING MATERIALS MARKET, NNEWI, HOLDS END OF YEAR PARTY

The Building Material Traders Association in Nkwo Nnewi, Anambra State, Tuesday, December 18, celebrated their end of the year party.

The party started with prayers and praise songs, where the traders thanked God for a good year.

Minutes of the last meeting dated 11th May 2018, was read out, where issues about electricity for the market was raised and tackled.

Chairman of the market, Mazi Uzochukwu Anyadiegwu, addressed traders and requested them to speak out whenever they are offended; adding that such is the only way their grievances could be addressed.

He apologized to everyone, who might have been offended in any way to forgive.

Mazi Uzochukwu also told traders in the Building Material Market to pay their taxes and dues to the state government, stating that such monies help the government to provide basic amenities needed in the market.

He also reminded the traders about power generating set donated by Governor Willie Obiano to the market, which he said, would be put to use next year.

A patron of the market, Mr. Peter Chukwugozie, said the traders should make effort to honour some of their members, who make outstanding contributions in the market.

He further requested the traders to continue to live in peace with one another.

The leader of women in the market, Mrs Ogechukwu Chianumba, spoke about the welfare of the market in general.

Major highlight of the ceremony was when the market executive gave appreciation gifts to all their patrons including, Chief Ben Uzoagu, Mr. Anthony Agwuncha, Mr. Peter Chukwugozie, Mr. Iyke Uba, Comrade Dennis Onyejekwu, Obigozie Nnadiofor (Onwa), Mr. Echezona Unuegbe, Mr. Emma Nwokolo, Mr. Joseph Udechukwu and Sir Ben Ogadimma.

The patrons in return, gave cash gifts to the association to support their work.

The event ended with the adoption of the meeting.

The association also gave cash gifts to some disabled persons, who were present and promised to give them more gift items during a special event fixed for April, 2019.
