A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Awka Ambassadors Club, Nigeria has given some financial assistance to all the patients at the ChukwuemekaOdumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka in the spirit of New Year celebration.

According to the President of the Club, Barrister Benjamin Nwosu, it is their custom that during festive periods, they will visit indigent people in the society both in hospitals, schools, and orphanage homes to help alleviate their plights.

Barrister Nwosu noted that in the spirit of new year celebration, they decided to visit the hospital to celebrate with all the patients at the various wards in the hospital and revealed that apart from the uniform reasonable amount of money which they gave to all the patients in the hospital, most of them also picked up some patients bills to offset, most especially those that have been discharged but cannot leave due to their inabilities to offset their bills.

While thanking them for a job well done, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital Dr. Basil Nwankwo, called on other spirited individuals to emulate the club in selfless service to humanity.
