  1. EXCLUSIVE: OBINNA NGONADI’S POLITICAL THUG MOLEST ANAEDOONLINE REPORTER IN NNEWI.

According to the eyewitness who described what happened as a huge surprise to many of them, said, “Ebube was seated during the meeting when a particular boy who I can’t identify rushed and started harassing Ebube where he was seated, he threatened to beat him up if he dares opens his bag, as most of us was trying to understand what was happening, he slapped Ebube while trying to forcefully take the bag from him, the guy alleged that Ebube was trying to use the phone inside his bag to record the speech of his candidate, Obinna Ngonadi. As this was happening, Izuchukwu Nkwogbo who came to the rescue of Ebube was also given a blow in the eyes shattering his eye glasses. This incident disrupted the meeting as we tried to settle the issue amicably outside the venue of the meeting.

Outside the hall, we learnt that what triggered the very unfortunate incident, was that Obinna Ngonadi’s media aide, identified as Chukwuebuka Obidike was restless when he sighted Ebube who he alleged was also the Media aide to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Anambra state House of Assembly Nnewi North Constituency, Nonso Okafor. He alleged Ebube was in the meeting purposely to record the speech of his boss, Obinna, who was set to address Uruagu youth during the meeting. He reported his findings to his boss who in return appeared to have complained to Uruagu Youth President, Hon Darlington, this prompted the President of Uruagu Youths to run a check on the identities of those who were inside the hall of meeting, it was confirmed that everybody in the hall including Ebube and Izuchukwu are from Uruagu Nnewi.

However, this ugly incident has raised very critical concerns over the competence of Obinna Ngonadi in running an issue based campaign and have also put to question over Obinna Ngonadi’s, House of Assembly aspirations.

Why has Ngonadi decided to surround himself with people who have history of thuggery? Assuming that Ebube in his capacity as a reporter wanted to record his speech as alleged, is there anything wrong with it? Doesn’t the Freedom of Information act empower him to do so? Since it is known that Obinna Ngonadi is running for a public office, why is he afraid of the media? Does it mean that he is telling lies to the public and is afraid of his co aspirants hearing it?

He seems not to understand that he is contesting for public office which requires public scrutiny. Stating that Ebube is writing for their opponent is inconsequential if viewed from an unbiased point.

Why was Obinna Ngonadi campaign group afraid of the presence of Ebube and Izuchukwu after they were identified to be indigenes of Uruagu Nnewi and have every right to be in the meeting?

If Obinna Ngonadi was sincere to himself, why didn’t he react immediately, since the incident took place when he was making his speech?
What was his motive for offering Ebube Brown Five Thousand Naira (#5000) after the meeting? Was it an attempt to lobby him, shut him up or pay him for being slapped.

Nnewi is not known for thuggery and politics of bitterness and this should not start because of State House of Assembly contest.

Election is not a do or die affair. We must at all times eschew violence and thuggery. Let the will of Ndi Nnewi Prevail.

We call on Obinna Ngonadi to call members of his team to order. This violence is one more too many. It’s not acceptable in any sane society.
