ANAMBRA CHIEF JUDGE INSTALLS PRESIDENTS OF CUSTOMARY COURTS

 

The Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Peter Umeadi, Wednesday, February 6, sworn in two presidents of the Customary Courts of the state alongside 68 other members.

Performing the ceremony at State Judiciary Headquarters in Awka, Justice Umeadi urged them to be diligent and honest in the discharge of their duties, as they work directly with the people at the grassroots, even as he called on the new Presidents of the Customary Courts to shun unnecessary delays in cases brought before their courts so as to give the people and residents of the state justice at all times.

The Chief Judge further encouraged the presidents and other members to work in synergy to achieve the aims and objectives of the courts.

Responding on behalf of others, Ikekwuibe Chiemerie Dorcas, one of the newly sworn-in Presidents of the customary courts, assured that they will deliver on the mandate given to them and thanked the Chief Judge for finding them worthy to serve.
