NEW POLICE COMMISSIONER ASSUMES OFFICE IN ANAMBRA (PHOTOS)

New Commissioner of Police, has assumed officer in Anambra State on Monday, February 11.

The New Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura, who took over from Mr. Garba Baba Umar, officially assumed duty as the 27th Commissioner of Police in the state.

The CP observed a Sentry Guard mounted in his honour at the quater guard and went to his office where he addressed journalists.

In his maiden address, the CP assured residents of Anambra State of his readiness to tackle the menace of cultism, extortion and ensure hitch free and credible elections in the state.

The CP also addressed senior police officers comprising HODs/DPOs in the Command and urged them to be professional in discharging their duties, and to ensure effective supervision of their subordinates.

The new police boss also visited the scene of tanker explosion which claimed several lives at Amawbia roundabout few days ago, and commiserated with the government and people of Anambra State over the loss of lives and properties due to the fire incident.

Meanwhile, the CP also paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, at the Governor’s Lodge; he later retired to his office to continue with the business of the day.
