9,000 PVCs YET TO BE COLLECTED IN NNEWI, SAYS INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, 13th February, 2019, disclosed that over Nine Thousands Permanent Voter Cards have been left uncollected at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Nnewi.

Speaking while meeting with some members of Nnewi stakeholders, the Zonal Electoral Officer of INEC disclosed that the Electoral body is fully prepared for the Saturday 16th February, 2019 Presidential and National Assembly Elections. He, however, urged Nnewi community to help in providing tables and chairs to be used at voting points.

He further announced that from available statistics, Nnewi has over 120 new voting points.

He regretted that over 9,000 voter cards still remain at the custody of the electoral body; and blamed the development to limited time allotted for the collection of the PVC.

He urged stakeholders in the town to help maintain peace in their areas of jurisdiction before, during and after the coming elections.
