ANTI PIRACY SOCIETY TASKS MANUFACTURERS, IMPORTERS ON STANDARDIZATION

The Anti Piracy Society of Nigeria has urged all manufacturers and importers of goods into Nigerian markets to shun fake products and embrace standard products, as, according to the group, it will not compromise on its efforts to ensure that all goods and services in the Nigerian market meet acceptable standards.

The Director General of Anti piracy Society of Nigeria, Frank Uduonu, gave the admonition during their campaign /sensitization rally on the dangers of fake products recently held in Onitsha, Anambra State.
He warned manufacturers and importers of edible and non edibles items to abide by the rules, by living up to the oath of their certification.

According to him, Anti Piracy Society of Nigeria will not hesitate to deal decisively with any manufacturer of products, as well as importers, who buy low quality goods.
Uduonu noted that the group’s campaign in Anambra State is to create awareness as, according to him, the group’s monitoring will come unannounced and unscheduled; adding that the sensitization is to instil in the people the importance of genuineness and originality.
The APSN boss said that they embarked on the exercise to ensure that the quality and taste of life of the Nigerian consumers are increased.
The awareness exercise took the group to major markets and streets in Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka, where the group had insisted that it will not relent in eradicating fake and substandard products in Nigeria.
