EXPERT SPEAKS ON THE DANGERS OF PREMARITAL SEX; ADVISES YOUTHS ON THE ESSENCE AND TIMING FOR SEX

A Relationship Management expert, Mr Austin Emmanuel has spoken on the importance of healthy sex to life in general. Speaking on a special Valentine youth programme organized by Anaedooline.com, in Nnewi on Thursday, February 14, Emmanuel, who is also the President of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association Nnewi, said that sex makes one look young, reduces stress, helps maintain fitness, facilitates urinary function in adults for easy urination, lowers blood pressure and prevents heart attack. He also said that sex increases and stabilizes mental activities, makes the skin blossom and improves self-esteem.

He, however, urged youths to practice sex according to St. Paul’s injunction on abstinence from sex; whereby sex should be between legally married couples.

“A married man with many problems and challenges gets relief and eases stress from his wife when he returns home to her; but when there’s no companion to go home to, cases of suicide come up”, he said.

He said that 92% of male and female unmarried persons that indulge in premarital sexual relationships is as a result of bad influence from friends. According to him, 9 out of every 10 girls would tell you that their friends lured them into early sex indulgence; 60% of men take decisions themselves while 40% listens to their fellow men. For women, according to him, 8% of them take decisions themselves while 92% listen to friends, even after marriage, unless the husband intervenes.

Speaking on what could be viewed as a disadvantage of premarital sex, the Guest Speaker hinted that early sex leads to retarded growth and low-level reasoning. Early sexual indulgence drains the brain because the individual’s mind starts entertaining sexual thoughts always.

“I once asked a very hard working white man years back if the fast growth of their economies is sponsored, he replied and said that they have time for pleasure and time for work; unlike Africans that work and play at the same time; and spending the profit of their businesses, thereby, starting all over again”, he said.

He said though sex has health advantages, premarital sex leads to heartbreaks, lack of focus, unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, low self-esteem, among other problems.

Also speaking at the platform, a politician, Mr. Okafor Nonso aka Smart, who is the candidate of APGA in the 2019 House of Assembly election in Anambra State, said that sex has advantages and disadvantages, depending on when one indulges in it. According to him, sex has an effect on self-esteem. Sex, he said, is a beautiful thing when properly implemented; but it becomes an abuse and a bad thing, especially when done by young people.

According to him, “abuse of sex has implications, especially to the brain. If our perception and attitude towards sex are managed to satisfy and accomplish the purpose it was created, it is beautiful. Excessive meditation and thought about sex affects one negatively. I advise that before one does something related to sex, such person should strike a line as to when and why he is starting it. My best advice is for you to zip up if you can because sex comes with lots of commitments and distractions.
