Feb. 23 Election: APGA’S NATIONAL CHAIR, OYE, UNDER PRESSURE TO RESIGN

A group under the auspices of Coalition of Aggrieved APGA Aspirants led by Hon. Owelle Onyeka Mbaso, Wednesday, February 27, in Awka, restated their demand for the resignation of the national chairman of the party, Ozomkpu Victor Ike Oye, and a refund of the money expended for the botched primary elections of the party.

The group further stated that they would not allow APGA to die as they are patriotic and committed members, who believe in the party’s ideology.

The demand came on the heels of the abysmal performance of the party in the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections which saw the All progressive Grand Alliance losing to the opposition parties in the state.

They further decried the situation where the national chairman lost his polling unit to the opposition and other ranking members of the state government from Anambra Central, who failed to deliver their wards.

The aggrieved aspirants called on the executive governor of the state, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, to implement the agreement it reached with them and also parley with them on how to turn the fortunes of the party around for good in the forthcoming state assembly election, as failure to heed to their demands will affect the fortunes of the party in the assembly election slated for 9th of February.
