UNIZIK’s Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) on Monday, March 4, embarked on an indefinite industrial action to press home their demands of non-payment of the Earned Allowances.

The industrial action which commenced on Monday by two associations of the three Joint Action Committee (JAC) became necessary owing to the non-payment of the Earned allowance and Hazard allowance, according to a release signed by the Chairperson of the two bodies, Comrade Njideka Nwangwu and Comrade Charles Onyebuchi for both SSANU and NASU respectively.

The release from the two bodies have it that the university management is working with one of the bodies of JAC, NAAT (National Association of Academic Technologists) to deny the SSANU and NASU payment of the Earned Allowances and Hazard allowances.
