NNEWI ANGLICAN BISHOP SET TO RETIRE.

The Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, His Grace Rt. Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala (JP) is being expected to retire.

According to a source at the Nnewi Diocesan Secretariat which pleaded anonymity, the Bishop who have reached the compulsory age of retirement of Seventy (70) years is expected to retire in September this year being 2019.
It is a law in the Chuurch of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, that any serving Bishop who have reached the age of Seventy (70) years must retire.

However, it is reported that there is secret lobbying going on among the top Archdeacons and others important stakeholders on who emerges the next Bishop.
The New Bishop is expected to be elected in July 2019 in a meeting of the house of Bishops Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

It is also being reported that the Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, His Grace Rt. Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala (JP) is yet to been seen in any public event since January as he still receiving treatment aboard after a surgical operation on his leg
