It was a splendid celebration on Sunday, 3rd March, 2019, as the family of Uche Emenike, CEO of Roselife Hotel and younger brother to Chief Chike Emenike, CEO Tummy Tummy Foods, held a thanksgiving service at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Okwuani, Nnewi, Anambra State.
The Emenike family were joined by other family members, friends and well-wishers to celebrate the life of Uche Emenike, who recovered from poison attack he suffered last year.
Uche Emenike was poisoned during one of his visits to his hometown, Uruala, Ideato North Local Government Area, Imo State, while he was eating and dinning with his friends, in September, 2018.
He was critically ill for three months; but through medical treatment and constant prayerful intercession by his family and the Charismatic members in the Catholic Church, as well as Brother Jerome Ministry, he recovered.
The Thanksgiving Mass was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Hilary Odili Okeke; and concelebrated by many priests.
In his homily during the Mass, Bishop Okeke recounted the story of the ten persons healed by Jesus Christ; after which only one person came for thanksgiving. He admonished Christians to always show gratitude to God for favour received; stating that God hates an ingrate.
He went further to thank God Almighty for healing Uche Emenike of food poisoning; while also commending Emenike for finding it necessary to come to the house of God for thanksgiving. He also urged other Christians to emulate the virtue.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the survival party shifted to the Convaj Event Center, Nnewi, where visitors were hosted to sumptuous reception. The event was well attended by men and women from all walks of life, including family members, friends and well-wishers of the celebrant.
At the thanksgiving reception, Lolo Emenike, the mother of Uche Emenike, sang and danced to the lord for all the good deeds upon her family. She urged everyone to eat and drink and be happy for the Lord did great thing in her household.
Speaking to Anaedoonline, the celebrant, Uche Emenike, thanked God Almighty for His goodness upon him; and vowed that he will remain in the household of the Lord, in spirit and in body, all the days of his life.
