The Hand Of Destiny: Hon Prince Nnamsom Nwafor-Orizu

Hon Prince Nnamsom Nwafor-Orizu was born into the revered Nnewi Royal Family of Rt. Hon Dr Abyssinia Akweke Nwafor Orizu, the First Republic Senate President, and Acting President – Commander in Chief of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

He was born at Mission Hospital Iyienu Ogidi Idemili North local government Area of Anambra State started his early education at Ndiakwu Community Primary School Otolo Nnewi thereafter he went to National Secondary School Nnewi, now, Nigeria Technical College Nnewi. The school was founded by his father, where he passed out in flying colours, and subsequently, he gained Admission into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

At A.B.U. Zaria, he contested and won the position of the welfare Director of Anambra students Association. He worked diligently and brought lots of sustainable developments in the association and also secured a bus for the association.
He contested again and won his departmental President of Library/Information Science Students Association (LISSA).

After passing out at A B U Zaria, he moved down to Benin, where he started selling fairly used clothes in partnership with his cousin Prince Afam Atuegwu opposite University of Benin Edo State main gate. Through hard work, he bought his first car BMW 5 series.

Nnamsom has been at the forefront of youth emancipation, a youth activist par excellence, and a goal getter, no wonder his friends and associates call him Political Tiligada. Due to his doggedness and commitment to hard work and excellence, the Umuokafor Royal family gave him the title – OFUNWA CHUKWUNEDU.

On coming back from his sojourn in Benin, he became field assistant for Anambra State Petroleum Committee without pay under Gov Peter Obi’s regime. He founded Anambra Youth for Good Governance (AYGG), the youth group that saw to the success of Gov Peter Obi’s re-election for the second tenure.

Eventually, he was appointed Chairman Anti Bunkering and adulterated petroleum products, a sub-committee of Anambra State Petroleum Committee, due to his bravery, performance and diligence to duty, His Excellency Gov. Peter Obi graciously appointed him a member committee on petroleum and later appointed him to the position of Chairman Committee on Procurement, Distribution, Pricing and Regulation of Petroleum Products in Anambra State.

He also contested for APGA Anambra South Zonal Youth leader and won, he was also appointed co-ordinator of Anambra South Youth mobilisation and Empowerment by Ex Gov Peter Obi.

However, at the inception of Gov Willie Obiano’s administration, he was re-appointed as Chairman of Anambra State Committee on Petroleum. He also served as Chairman of Nnofor Royal Youth Forum, a youth body of Otolo Nnewi ward 1, where he served meritoriously for four years tenure as its founding chairman.
Nnamsom was also elected Director of International Affairs and Directorate of Environment of National Youth Council of Nigeria, under the leadership of Comrade Frank Maduka’s regime. He was also appointed the Public Relation Officer of United Anambra Youth Assembly, U-AYA.
He formed the foremost online media group in Anambra State known as Anambra Patriotic Voice and *Eziokwu Puta Ife Anambra* and this rare feat endeared him to his brother Dr Ifeanyi Ubah (Ebubechukwu Uzo Nnewi), Dr Chukwuemeka Ezife, Dr Alex Ekwueme and many prominent and patriotic citizens of Anambra state.

He later resigned his appointment as the Chairman of Anambra State petroleum Committee and as well left APGA.

As fate will have it, this dogged fighter for youth emancipation was beckoned to come back to the party he laboured for by the stakeholders of APGA. He was re-admitted into APGA at Otolo ward 1 and pledged his loyalty to the peace-loving and working Governor Akpokuodike global. His Excellency Gov Willie Obiano appointed him Special Assistant on Youth Entrepreneurship on the 18th May 2017 where he initiated the slogan “Operation Good Will Win” team for Gov Obiano and insisted that Obiano will win the elections.
This umbrella body brought the Anambra youths’ in the 326 wards in Anambra state together, where they subsequently endorsed His Excellency Chief Dr Willie Obiano for the second term.

At the grassroots, he founded a powerful group known as Obiano Warriors in Anambra South to ensure that the vote was protected and resisted any attempt to manipulate the system. The Political Tiligada, won his polling unit, his ward, during the last election where the incumbent Governor Chief Dr Willie Mmadubuchukwu Obiano was re-elected.
Hon. Prince Nnamsom Nwafor-Orizu is the incumbent Senior Special Assistance to the Governor on Youth Entrepreneurship/ Mobilisation. Tiligada is the calibre of youth needed to keep the hope of youths in politics alive.
