It Never Happened In Other Parts Of Nnewi, It Cannot Happen In Nnewichi – Mr. Martin Okafor Blows Hot

Prior and sequel to the 2019 house of assembly election that was held in Nnewi North Constituency, there seems to to be furor in the Nnewichi Polity because of the Zoning arrangement that was allegedly championed by the Obi of Nnewichi.

Mr Martin Okafor , former Nnewi North Local Govt Council Chairman and a stake holder in Nnewi Nkwo Market has frowned at the Zoning arrangement , saying that he was never in support of it and will never be in support of it .

Speaking To Anaedoonline.com, Mr. Martin narrated what he did to checkmate the committee that was being set up to see to the Zoning arrangement.

“On the Issue of Zoning, I never supported it and still do not support it, when they were forming the committee , i called Obidugwu (Obi of Nnewichi ) and told him that this committee will be detrimental to Obinna Ngonadi’s aspirations, that people will automatically assume the committee was set up with the aim of advancing Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi’s son which will result in a sympathy vote for Smart” He said

Speaking further, Martin Okafor said, “When Benchuks initially won the State House of Assembly Election, there was nothing like zoning, when it was Uruagu’s turn, there was no zoning, same thing with Umudim and Otolo. Why will Nnewichi Suddenly start zoning ? It will never work here”

Responding to our question as regards the members of the Zoning committee, Mr. Martin Okafor mentioned the names of Mr. Nchedo Obor and Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi.

“Nchedo Obor was a founding member of that Committee while Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi is member board of trustee of the Committee. How can you be a member board of trustee of the committee when your son is also involved? so if you look at it, the committee was set up because of Obinna Ngonadi. it’s not right” He said.
