Nnewi: Unizik College Of Health Science Inaugurate New Student Leadership (Photos)

History was made today, Thursday, 18th April 2019, as Nnamdi Azikiwe College of Health Sciences Nnewi, inaugurated and inducted the newly elected Student’s Association Government (SAG) of the Institutions for 2019/2020 academic session.


The inauguration which brought to an end to two years of suspension of Student Union activities in the school was done under the watchful eyes of the provost of the institution, Prof. O. O Udemezue.


In his speech, the Sub-dean of Student’s Affairs of the College, Prof. C.K Oranusi congratulated the out-going Executive members of the Student’s Association Government (SAG) of the college ably led by Hon. Hillary Nkem Okeke for their achievements and urged them to remain focused as the future holds a lot for them, he, however, advised the new executive of the institutions to consolidate on the achievements already recorded by their predecessors and also enjoined them to learn from the mistakes of the past administration

The out-going President of the Association, Hon. Hillary Nkem Okeke while thanking the Students for the privilege they gave him to serve them, also commended the school management for the cordial relationship that existed between the School Management and the Student Association Government during his administration. He also listed most of his achievements which led to the development of the school and other student activities, he advised the New Leadership to look at his most of policies implementation he started and try their possible best to consolidate on them.

The New President, Anyaoha Prosper Ugochinyerem, on his own part, appreciated the School Management, the Students and the Out-going President, Hon. Hillary Nkem Okeke, for all their support in ensuring that the inauguration became a reality. He assured the students of his commitment towards redefining the student union of the college to fit the 21st-century realities by making sure that the welfare and rights of the students is protected.


Speaking further, “He promised to inaugurate some relevant committees and forums which will ensure the smooth running of his administration and also to bring his government home to the students. He however extended of fellowship to his opponents, Mr. Igwe Ogbonnaya and Mr. Onyeka Franklin, who contested against him during the election and urged them to support him and his executive with their ideas.


Speaking during the inauguration, the Provost of the College, Professor O. O Udemezue expressed delight at the political maturity exhibited by the students before, during and after the election. He, therefore, charged them to maintain a good working relationship with the school management while striving to serve the students who elected them.

The high point of the event was when the provost administered the oath of office to the newly elected executive and subsequently presented certificates to both the present and out-going executives.
