Workers Day : What Senator Victor Umeh Said About The New Minimum Wage

Senator Victor Umeh , earlier today , Addressed Nigerian Workers at Eagle Square, Abuja , on the 2019 May Day Celebration. .

Senator Victor Umeh , who is representing Anambra Central Constituency at the Nigerian Senate and who is also Deputy Chairman of Senate Committee on Labour and Employment , spoke on behalf of the Senate President , His Excellency , Dr Bukola Saraki .

Speaking to the Workers , Senator Umeh emphasized that “Peace is the bedrock of Development “, he also acknowledged the doggedness of the Nigerian Workers Unions towards ensuring better Workforce and improved welfare for the Nigerian Workers.

Speaking Further , Senator Umeh also congratulated Nigerian Workers on the actualization of the new National Minimum Wage which the two chambers of the National Assembly received and passed without delay in favour of the Nigerian workers.

“we are a pro-development national assembly and we will continue to favor policies that will better the lives of Nigerians” He said

Senator Victor Umeh urged all the “workers’ unions” to always follow the path of peace and dialogue in making their demands.

“let us remember that there can be no development without peace. And anything done in the pursuit of peace is often good and in the National Interest. it is my strong belief that the actions and dispositions we take today on the affairs of our people will ultimately determine our legacy in the face of posterity.”

“finally, from the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish you a momentous May Day Celebration and journey mercies back to your individual homes.”
