Christ The Way Student Becomes The Overall Winner Of Knight Of St. Mulumba Essay Competition

Miss Onyinyechi Nwobodo , a native of Isu in Onicha L.G.A of Ebonyi State has emerged the winner of the essay competition which was organized by the International Alliance of Catholic Knights (IACK) with theme , “WALKING IN JOY TO SERVE THE LORD, A YOUNG PERSON’S PERSPECTIVE ON LIVING THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL IN TODAY’S WORLD”.

Onyinye Nwobodo , a Student of Christ the Way Secondary School Uruagu Nnewi , was one of the three students that represented Nnewi Diocese at the essay competition where she emerged the overall winner of the competition at the Provincial level .

The Province is  comprised  of Seven Dioceses ; Abakalikki , Awka, Enugu, Nsukka, Nnewi, Onitsha and Awgwu of 46 Sub Councils of KSM .

Anaedoonline.com was present to witness the award giving ceremony which was held today being 4th of May 2019 at the Knight of St. Mulumba headquarter, St. John Cross Catholic Church (Egbo), Uruagu Nnewi.

The award giving ceremony  commenced with a Holy mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Maurice Okeke and Rev Fr. Charles Udeke (parish vicar and principal of Christ the Way School).

Rev. Fr. Charles Udeke, while preaching the Sermon, implored the worthy men of  Knight of St. Mulumba to hold onto God inspite of any challenge or hurdles they encounter , the Rev also reminded them that there are about 365 “Do not be afraid” in the Bible, therefore, there is a “Do not be afraid” attached to each day they exist.

The Cash Prize was presented to Miss Onyinyechi Nwobodo, the Winner of the essay Competition by Sir Aghadinuno Godwin (Worthy Grand Knight, Nnewi sub-Council).

While Presenting the Cash Prize to the winner, Sir Aghadinuno Godwin In his speech, expressed his joy for Nnewi diocese producing the winner and prayed that when the essay will be passed to national and international level, that Onyinyechi will still emerge the winner. He also advised other students to grab opportunities like this when they see them.

Other Knights in attendance especially Knight Micheal Akudinobi who was the former principal of Christ the Way School from 1996-2008 and also the one that introduced Junior WAEC to the school were so happy about the development and encouraged Miss Onyinyechi with their personal cash gifts. Onyinyechi’s mother and uncle expressed their joy and thanked the worthy knights for their kind gestures towards her.

Onyinyechi in an exclusive interview with Anaedoonline.com was so excited about her victory. In her words, she said ” I am happy and I advise my fellow students that when opportunities like this come up again, that they should make sure they engage themselves diligently because nobody knows tomorrow. To all the participants who wrote the essay, whether you win or not,  I want you to know that you are a winner because you participated. As you participated, the knowledge is already in you and nobody can take it away from you”.
Miss Onyinyechi Nwobodo will be representing the Province at the National Level later this year.

Rev. Fr. Charles Udeke also was happy for Onyinye’s doggedness and subsequently making the school proud ,He went ahead to pray that she  excels at the national and international level of the essay competition.
