The Market Levy We Pay Here, Is Killing Our Businesses – Nnewi Trader Cries Out

One of the major Source of revenue for the Anambra State Government is the Nkwo Nnewi Market, they generate these revenues through the collection of levies.

An Nkwo Nnewi Market executive, who spoke to anaedonline.com in anonymity has appealed to the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to reduce the amount of money that is collected from Agbo-edo market traders as market Levy.

You may also recall that anaedonline.com reported how Agbo-audio market traders complained bitterly, how the levy they pay to the State Government is telling on their businesses, as some of them had to move out of the market due to the inability of some traders to pay the levy and still make profit from sales.

Speaking Further, The Nkwo Nnewi Market  executive, spoke to us in anonymity, said, ” You can’t expect someone that sells few commodities like undies on a table in Agbo-edo market to pay the same amount of Levy that Machine parts or Motor parts dealers are expected to pay, the Governor should please look into it”

He, however, commended the Governor for working on some of the roads in Nkwo market, while appealing to him to also extend his road rehabilitation project to Agba-Edo United Market, Nkwo Nnewi.
