Is The Okpunoeze Road Leading To “Golgotha” ?- Residents Lament The Poor State
Residents of Akaboezem Uruagu in Anambra State have lamented to Anaedoonline.com about the very poor state of their roads while calling out to the State Government to come to their rescue.
According to Mrs. Chinaza Obi, who works in one of the businesses in Akaboezem Uruagu, she was of the strong opinion that the deplorable roads in that area have gotten to a stage when the State Government have to step in fast before it wrecks more irreparable damages to businesses in that area.

She said, “The road network in Akaboezem has deteriorated badly and need the intervention of the state government to get it fixed. The terrible state of the road has caused more harm than good.”
“For instance, most businesses in the community are experiencing stunted growth or have closed down due menace of bad road network Akaboezem and its environs.”
“Speaking of the menace of bad roads in Akaboezem, some junctions have become hideout spots for criminals that terrorize road users. Also during the rainy season, the road is in a total mess and gets worse each year, creating very large potholes, with flood makes it difficult to differentiate gutters from the road itself”.
Speaking Further, Mrs Chinaza Obi said that the roads got so bad in some areas and is almost completely unmotorable , she gave an example of how Dr, B.U.C Ben Ahazu C.E.O Nnewi Hotel, on Nov 2018 sandfilled and graded the road from Okpuneze junction to Umuezeagu to make the road motor-able for motorist coming Nnewi hotel as well as indigens and residents of the community.

Mr. Obinna, a shop owner who spoke to Anaedoonline.com exclusively, said that the state of the road is an eye-sore and a slap on the face of some so-called influential men in the area.
Anaedoonline.com spoke with A Staff of Nnewi Hotel who spoke to us in Anonymity, she lamented that business has been very bad for them.
“See, that road has spoilt business for us kpata-kpata, look at a hotel as Big and beautiful as this, we hardly get customers, most times, Our C.E.O funds this Hotel with money from his other Businesses, it gets worse rainy seasons .”
We couldn’t help noticing the lack of activities at the hotel.
