Electricity: Uru Community Hails Governor Obiano

The residents of Uru Community, Umudim, Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State have expressed their gratitude to the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, for granting their request by providing a transformer for the community.

The Transformer which was presented to Uru Community on Saturday, 15th May, 2019, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget Monitoring and Efficiency, Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu, who represented the Governor, has given residents of the area a high relief after years of no hope of power supply.

Speaking on behalf of the Community, a major stakeholder of the Community, Chief Sylvester Unigwe (Isiocha), said that the community is grateful to the Governor for responding to their yearnings.

He said,” Our community cried to the Governor through Hon. Melie Onyejepu about the need for a transformer and the request was granted, the transformer is here with us today, we all are rejoicing because we will soon stop having epileptic power supply, we are very happy”

Speaking further, he said, “Very soon, the construction of the road in our community will soon commence, the Governor has signed it, our community will improve because with road and improved power supply, our place will be good, we will keep supporting the government”
