ROBBERS STAB MAN TO DEATH IN OGIDI, ANAMBRA COMMUNITY
Two armed robbers have reportedly killed one Chinedu Igboanugo of Nkwelle Ogidi, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.
Anaedooline gathered reliably that the incident occurred on Sunday, March 3, at about 12.30 am.
It was gathered that Igboanugo, on the fateful night, was in bed with his girlfriend, when their power generating set suddenly went off.
According to our source, the lady went out to ascertain why the generator went off only to storm into two hefty men, who were armed to the teeth.
“As she went out, she stormed into two armed robbers, who suddenly
stabbed her, and she started shouting.
“Her noise attracted Igboanugo, who rushed out and held one of the robbers; while the other stabbed him repeatedly to force him release his colleague.
“As Igboanugo refused to let go, the other robber standing continued to stab him and hit him with stones; but when people at the neighborhood started rushing to the scene, he fled leaving his colleague, who was held on the ground.
“He was about being lynched when local vigilante group on patrol vehicle stormed the place and whisked him to police station. It was not long that the vigilante left the scene with one of the robbers before Igboanugo collapsed and died as a result of multiple injuries”, the source said.
The Divisional Police
Officer, DPO, Ogidi Division, Mr. Mark Ijarafu, while confirming the incident to our reporter, said that, “one of the armed robbers is
with us and we are looking for the fleeing robber. They were two
armed robbers, according to the complainant.”
