Public Alarm: NAFDAC Suspends The Consumption Of EVA Bottle Water.

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has suspended the production of EVA premium table water due to change in colour and presence of particles.

The regulatory agency had on Friday, 5th July, issued a public alert to that effect with Reference number Public Alert No. 0011/2019 , titled “Recall of Eva Premium Table Water 75cl Due to Change in Colour and presence of Particles”

This public alert message was released on the Twitter handle of the regulatory agency, NAFDAC.

NAFDAC has directed Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited to recall Eva Premium Table Water 75cl as a precautionary step pending investigation.

Anaedoonline.com gathered that NBC had voluntarily reported a change in colour of the product from colourless to light green and presence of particles in two lots to the agency on June 20, 2019, as confirmed by the regulatory agency.

The affected Eva Premium Table Water 75cl was produced between 22nd and 23rd May, 2019 as reported.

Eva Premium Table Water 75cl produced by Nigerian Bottling Company is registered by NAFDAC and the NAFDAC Registration Number is 01-0492.

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC also revealed in a statement that it would investigate the affected beverages.

Consequently, NAFDAC urges the general public, dealers and consumers of Eva water to halt the distribution and consumption of the affected EVA PREMIUM table water 75cl until further notice.

Part of the statement reads:

“The production of Eva Premium Table Water 75cl at Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, Asejire, Ibadan, Oyo State has been suspended pending the outcome of investigation being conducted by the Agency. #NacfdacALERTS

“NAFDAC implores distributors, wholesalers and retailers to immediately stop the distribution & sale of the affected Eva Premium Table Water 75cl.
They should return the stock of the affected product in their possession to Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd, Asejire, Ibadan, Oyo State.” The tweet reads.
