Anambra Commissioner, Commissions New Power Plant in Agbo-Edo Market Nnewi (Photos)

Anambra State Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Wealth Creation, Dr. Christian Madubuko has commissioned new Power Plant for traders of Agbo-Edo Market Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association (AMPSDA).

The 330KVA Giant Power Plant which was bought by the traders of the market under the leadership of Mr. Dennis Ikegwuonu (Onyeisi) was commissioned by Dr. Christian Madubuko, yesterday, Monday, 8th July 2019.

Commissioning the Power Plant, Hon. Christian Madubuko praised the new leadership of Agbo-Edo Motor Spare Parts Market for the giant stride despite being less than Hundred (100) days in office.


Describing Hon. Christian Madubuko as a man who has the support of the people, he said that his victory despite all the opposition shows that he was on a mission to uplift the present state of the market.

He said that the Government of Chief Dr. Willie Obiano is committed to enthroning strong and people-oriented leadership which is the best way of improving responsive market leadership.

He however, urged traders in the market to partner with the state government by prompt payment of their taxes and advised them to continue to support the new market leadership.

On his own part, Chairman of Agbo-Edo Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association, Mr. Dennis Ikegwuonu (Onyeisi), thanked the dignitaries and the traders for their presence.

Expressing his appreciation to the traders, he thanked them for their support during the electioneering period and promised to fulfill his campaign promises.

In his words, he said;

“When I became the Chairman of this Market, I found out that we had issues with electricity, I pleaded with the Management of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to install an industrial meter in the Market, through the help of God, they came and installed the meter”

Continuing, he said, “During my first few days in office, I also found out that this market had over Three Thousand (3000) generators, which was not good for our health due to the pollution and noise, with your support, we used the levy we paid to buy the two generating set at the cost of fourteen (14) million”

He however, promised to consolidate on his achievement if given more support.

Dignitaries present during the commissioning includes; the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KOTEC Group, Chief Chika Emenike, the President General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Chief Ugochukwu Udemezue (Ifeneti), the Chairman Nnewi Traders, Chief Edward Muozom, Hon. Obinna Okechukwu, Hon. Dr. Okey Offor and other important personalities including the representatives of the security agencies.
