NASPA UNITY CUP: Zone 15 Beats Zone 20 To Reach Final (Photos)
There was huge jubilation at Nnewi High school today, 9th August 2019, as Zone 15 beat Zone 20 in a return leg semi-final match to advance to the finals of the NASPA(New Auto Spare Parts Association) UNITY CUP.
After a tense 90 minutes, with both teams equally sharing the possession at 50% each, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
It proceeded to a penalty shoot-out, where Zone 20 lost to Zone 15 who successfully converted all their five penalty shots. Zone 15 got 4 yellow cards against Zone 20 that got just one yellow card.
The NASPA UNITY CUP kicked off on April 1st, 2019. The competition is expected to see a total of 50 matches played by the end of the competition and about 48 games have been played already.
According to Hon. Uche Ezechukwu, who is the secretary of NASPA and also the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the competition, said the cup competition was organized by the Chairman of NASPA, Hon. Obinna Okechukwu, through the Zonal chairmen.
He said that the zonal chairmen requested that the football competition be organized since it has been awhile it was held.
Zone 20 will be playing for 3rd place with Zone 4 , while the finals of the game will be played on the 25th August, 2019 between today’s winner, Zone 15 and Zone 13.
