Election Tribunal In Abia State Affirms The Election Of Member Of State House of Assembly
Chukwudi Apugo (PDP, Umuahia East) has defeated Austin Nmeregini (APC) at the Abia State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia.
The Tribunal sitting in the High Court complex Umuahia for National /State House of Assembly affirmed the election of the member representing Umuahia East Constituency Prince Chukwudi Apugo.
Delivering judgement in the petition of the 2019 APC candidate, Mr Augustine Okezie, against Prince Apugo of the PDP, panel 1 Chairman Justice Adeyinka Aderibigbe dismissed the petition for lack of merit.

According to the panel, the petitioner in the cause of pursuing his case failed to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt on the allegation of rigging leveled against INEC, PDP and the second respondent, Prince Apugo and consequently dismissed the petition
