Ekwulobia Market In Need Of Infrastructure,Urgently – E.T.A.W.A Chairman (Photos)

The Chairman Ekwulobia Traders and Allied Workers Association, Mr. Nnopu Eberechukwu has appealed to the Anambra state government for a better structured and centralized market in the town Ekwulobia, Aguata local government area, Anambra State.

Mr. Nnopu Eberechukwu spoke to Anaedoonline.com in an exclusive interview concerning the need to upgrade the Ekwulobia market, as the market is well expanded and needs to be properly centralized, structured and planned.

Speaking he said,” Ekwulobia as the fourth most urbanized and fastest developing town in Anambra State, after Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi needs the adequate attention and intervention of the state government in infrastructure.”
”Speaking on infrastructure, there is great need for centralization and proper structural planning of markets in Ekwulobia just as it is in Onitsha and other commercial cities/town. Because there are no Permanent business location in the town.”
”Most buildings where people do their businesses in Ekwulobia are privately owned landed properties which are not centralized. Some people also trade on the main roads thereby causing congestion and traffic, these are also causes of some road accidents”.

Speaking further, the Chairman Ekwulobia Traders and Allied Workers Association said, ” there should be a market for different lines of businesses such as Building material, electronics, motor spare parts, timber, clothes, and textiles, etc.”

”For example, the Eke market is the only market that is fairly organized in Ekwulobia, it has become overcrowded because it is not well planned and structured.”

In conclusion, Mr. Nnopu advised that Mapping out the Land for proper siting, planning, and structures for the Ekwulobia market project will take care of the challenges they currently and also terminate future challenges.
Speaking,he said, “This is the best time the government can still find a vast area of land to embark on infrastructural projects as regards Ekwulobia market because there is rapid development in the town and in few years time, it may not be easily achieved as compared to now.”
