ANAMBRA- Minority Leader and Member Representing Ekwusigo Constituency at the Anambra State house of Assembly, Onyebuchi Agustine Offor has called on the Commissioner of Police Anambra State to instruct the various area commands in the state and DPO’s of all the Local Government Areas (LGA) in the state to address the menace carried out by men of the police force mounting in different roads of the state.

Onyebuchi, who is the chairman house committee on security and police affairs, before seconding the motion on adjournment at plenary, frowned at the attitude of policemen in Nnewi and Orafite axis saying “There is no day that we don’t witness policemen with their hillocks roadblocks on stop and search especially in the rural areas extorting money from motorist and commercial drivers publicly. .
“My father was a police officer and I grew up in the barracks. What I am seeing now concerning policemen is different from what I saw those days. The decorum in the police job has been dragged to the mound. As the son of a police officer, I am ashamed. Let the commissioner of police take drastic actions’.
