Group Write Petition To Anambra Assembly, Raises Alarm Over Injustice

Retirees of the Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe (NOCEN) who left service from January 1st, 2007 to August 7th, 2011 has written a petition to the Anambra State House of Assembly with the title, “Denial of the implementation in the college of CONTISS 2007 table approved by all colleges of education nationwide,

The Member Representing Anaocha 2 Constituency and the Chairman House Committee on Basic Education, also the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Public Petition, Ejike Okechukwu, presented the public petition to the notice of the legislators during plenary

The title of the petition is an appeal to Anambra State House of Assembly aasking for mercy on concerned college retirees between 1st January 2007 and 7th August 2011″. The petition implored the house of Assembly to show a human face in resolving the unjustified denial suffered by the concerned retirees.

They also prayed that the retirees pension and gratuity needed to be recomputed on the bases of CONTISS table with national effect from the day each individual retired from service between 1/1/2007 and 7/8/2011 and or in the wisdom of the house with financial effect any date as from 8th august 2011 as what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

The petition was referred to the house committee on public petition for proper deliberations.
