Good fate turned sour as two persons have been accidentally killed and about seven others severely injured by a trigger happy policeman.
At a burial, during the internment of the late mother of the traditional ruler of Umuakoli Urualla in Ideato North LGA of Imo State, Eze Martin Aladi over the weekend.
Based on an eye witness account, the incident happened when the planning committee of friends went to the King’s chambers to pay him a conference visit. Although he couldn’t relate the identity of the policeman, he noted that the policeman is attached to a prominent indigene of the community, Mr. Remy Chris Nwagbo.

Happy moments went sour when the policeman who in a bid to show solidarity with the group started shooting sporadically in the air that left casualties. The first of many was when it destroyed the jaws of the man exchanging pleasantries with Remy Chris and as well as injured seven other people who were waiting to relate with Remy Chris. Amongst the injured was the purported last victim who died instantly and another whose brains were shattered and were confirmed dead in the hospital and then others around started scampering for safety.
Efforts to get a reaction from the state police command have been delayed with just a text message from the spokesman.
However, a source who wished not to disclose his identity said the policeman have been arrested and is scheduled to face orderly trial room according to the Police Force standards.
