The Publicity Secretary of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Sir Augustine Ikeh has accused Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu for the Non-Approval of the second tranch of the community “choose your project.”

Community “choose your project” is a community development model initiated by His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, which enables communities to identify projects of their choice worth N20M, provide contractors from the community to undertake the job and supervised by their representatives.

In a commentary monitored by Anaedoonline on Nzuko-Ora Nnewi WhatsApp group, the Publicity Secretary of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Sir Augustine Ikedoji accused the Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Implementation, Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu, for not working towards the approval of the second tranch of the project for Nnewi.

According to him, the facilitation and approval of funds for the project are practically on the table of Hon. Melie Onyejepu.

He wrote, “Hon. Melie Onyejepu is the SA to the Governor on Budget, Planning, and Efficiency”

“Each town receives 20 Million Naira for a choice project in an installment of 3.5 Million or it’s equivalent. Virtually all towns in Anambra are the third stage that is Sixty Million Naira, while Nnewi is yet to receive completely the First N20 Million”

Continuing, he wrote, “The facilitation and approval of this fund is almost 70% practically on the table of Hon. Melie Onyejepu, Special Adviser (SA) on Budget”

“He is comfortably approving the third phase, which is N60 Million for other towns, while Nnewi is yet to start receiving her second phase”

He, however, noted that Dr. Cletus Ibeto’s donation of N10 Million is what has helped in the completion of the foundation of the town hall.

It is important to note that the Nnewi Town Hall project is being done by one of Nnewi and Anambra’s leading contractor, that goes by the name, Digital.

Efforts to reach Hon. Melie to tell his side of the story proved abortive because his phone line was either out of reach or he wasn’t responding.
