Nnewichi Central School, Nnewichi Nnewi, one of the premier primary school in Nnewi, yesterday, Saturday 26th October 2019, rolled out the drums for the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the institution.
The school which was established in 1948 by the Church Missionary Society (CSM) and now a public school, has produced prominent Nigerians making waves in the country and abroad.
The lavish 70th-anniversary celebration started with a thanksgiving service at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Nnewichi. The service which was officiated by Rev. Nobel Nwokedi was well attended by pupils, parents, and teachers of the school.
Delivering his homily, the Ministering priest, Rev. Martin Aniagu said that the celebration was about appreciating God for his faithfulness all through the years of the existence of the institution.

According to him, the school which brought light to the community has also produced men and women of value who have contributed to the development of Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria and beyond.
He charged the pupils to remain focused on their academic activities, respect for the constituted authorities and to crave for excellence, which will continue to put the school in the limelight.
He, however, prayed that God will continue to empower the management of the school with his enabling grace to ensure more achievements both educational and otherwise.
After the sermon, it was all praises to God Almighty, as pupils, teachers and the management of the school danced to the alter in appreciation of God’s faithfulness upon their lives and most especially that of the school.
