As part of the celebration to mark the 70th year Anniversary of Nnewichi Central School, Nnewi, Anambra state, 18 students from different classes got full scholarship awards up to university level.
Nnewichi Central School which was formerly called St. Marks CMS school in 1948 when the school was founded with Mr. Robinson Okwuanalu as the first Headmaster of the school.
Mr. Ugochukwu Onumaegbu, CEO of GOVICON GLOBAL SERVICES LIMITED (Freight Forwarding, General Consultancy, Terminal/Haulage Off Dock) who gave the full scholarship awards to 18 pupils, was represented at the event by his manager, Mr. Afam Udemezue. The pupils who were selected based on merit to benefit from Mr. Ugochukwu Onumaegbu include:
Basic 1 – Akuba Ogochukwu, Akuba Somadina, and Ogbuewu Onyinye.
Basic 2 – Chinedu Gilbert, Otubo Ugochukwu and Nwachukwu Chidera
Basic 3 – Odunukwe Chubuike, Ogbu Chidera and Agada Favor
Basic 4 – Ogba Oluebube, Nwite Sochima and Ogbuefi Obinna
Basic 5 – Eze Chidera, Nziwu Chukwuebuka and Eze Mmesoma
Basic 6 – Eziokwubundu Chidalu, Eshaya Chibuike and Eze Chinaemerem
The above pupils were awarded a full scholarship. Their tuition fees shall be paid starting from primary to secondary school up to Tertiary school.
The management of the school that comprises of the headmistress, the teachers and the parents of these pupils were overjoyed as the names of these pupils were called out at the event.

Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, the Manager of GOVICON GLOBAL SERVICES LIMITED, Mr. Afam Udemezue who presented the scholarship award, he thanked the school management for their academic efforts towards making this school and the pupils what it is. He urged them to continue their good work and also pleaded with those awarded with the scholarship that they should be serious with their academic since finance is no longer a barrier to their academic success.

When asked what motivated his boss to carry out this philanthropic activity, he narrated how his boss; Mr. Ugochukwu Onumaegbu was on his way out, on getting to the school, he saw some school children roaming around the school street. He asked one of them what the problem was; the pupil told him that they have been sent out because of school fees. Mr. Ugochukwu drove into the school demanding the names of those that were sent out that day. He paid their school fees and asked the school management to collate the name of those that are unable to pay their school fees on time. Mr Ugochukwu is known to carry out these philanthropic acts for other indigent pupils.
