Federal Government Officially Hands Over Enugu Airport To The Contractor

The Federal Government has officially handed over the Akanuibiam International Airport to the Ireland Contractor, People’s Construction (PW).

Performing the exercise in Enugu, the Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika promised that the contract will be timely executed.

Hadi Sirika noted that the PW is now fully mobilized to the site and working according to the schedule stipulated for the execution of the task.

He appreciated the effort of Enugu state government for the massive support in the rehabilitation of the airport.

In his words, Enugu state government has sorted and provided the source of water for the contractors, relocated the market and illegal structures that posed dangers to the airport.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, House of Reps. Committee on Aviation, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji used the opportunity to call on the federal government to repair the road leading to both airport at Asaba, Delta State and Owerri, Imo state.

Nnoli Nnaji hinted that the repair will minimize the sufferings of the people who may travel through the aforementioned airports.
