Imo state fire service have averted a fire disaster at Ebere Links Fuel Station Port Harcourt Road, Owerri.
Kudos to Imo Firefighters for their quick response.
A 30,000-litre tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) collided with a moving vehicle this afternoon along Port-Harcourt Road, Owerri.
The Petrol Tanker which was on its way to a delivery at Ebere Links Filling Station when the mishap occurred was ruptured, with its content pouring out.
It took the timely intervention of the newly-revived Imo State Fire Service to avert the disaster.
But for the intervention of the Fire Service, it would have become another addition to the spate of tanker incidents that have been occurring around the country.
Governor Emeka Ihedioha was on the spot to access the situation himself. He also commended the Imo State Fire Service for their quick response.
