Dr. Alutu’s College Of Excellence And Computer Studies Celebrates Her Graduands, Staff (Photos)

Dr. Alutu College Of Excellence And Computer Studies held their send-off, prize-giving day for the 2018/2019 set and also 11th-year remembrance of the founder of the school late Dr. John Okonkwo Alutu on 7th December 2019 at the school premises.

The event started with an opening prayer by some of the students, followed by march-past and national anthem by the students.



The occasion was graced by the Obi of Abubor Nnewichi, Obi Francis Obidiegwu, the chairman of the event, Barr. Kingsley Okonkwo, The PTA chairman Chief Obimailo, Parents, Guardians, Teachers, Graduands, and the Students.

The students joyfully entertained their parents and guests with a lot of activities, which include royal dance by Umuada, hip hop dance, short drama, ballet, old school dance, and beauty pageant.

They also launched the 9th volume of their magazine themed “Gender Equality Beyond the Classroom” which was borne out of the need for women inclusion within the society.

The principal, in his speech, said the school has been known for its academic excellence all through the past years, stating that the students made 100% success in BECE examination, adding that about 46% of the students passed with credits in 9 subjects in 2018/2019 WAEC examination.


He also added that they have also been representing the state well in competitions both within the state and outside the state. He urged business establishments in Nnewi and beyond to give the students an opportunity to serve, while also persuading the parents to help and support the school.

Awards were given to appreciate outstanding teachers and students, which include most punctual staff, most dedicated staff, best-behaved student, most creative student, most reserved student, among others.

Mr. Alutu said the students are going out of the school to make exploits and represent the state well wherever they are.

“My expectations from the students is for them to move from higher to higher, handling their education with a matured hand.”

In an interview with one of the staff, Mr. Ikejemba Obinna, he said the graduands are people that can stand out in the society, adding that students of the college can compete with other students within and outside Nigeria.

In another interview with one of the graduands, Miss Ojukwu Chikaodili Favour, she stated that she feels so delighted and happy to be one of the graduands from the great Dr. Alutu college of excellence. She added that she has already gained admission into the University of Nigeria Nsukka to study Igbo language.

The event continued with the crowning of the queen of Alutu and there were lots to eat and drink as the students danced joyfully.
